Lauren, Fractures and Bugs!

Home... Lauren and Bugs

Lauren Pearl at age 5
One of my favorite pictures that I took of  Lauren

"Lauren's Butterfly" Lauren age 9
A photo taken by my daughter Megan of her sister Lauren.

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm deathly afraid of grasshoppers and crickets.  Especially crickets.  I'm not too fond of most insects in general but they top the list.
Wanna guess what my daughter Lauren loves?  Bugs.
My daughter Lauren loves any kind of bug or insect.  She loves to pick them up and if she can't she'll just sit and observe them.  She's been that way for as long as I can remember.
A couple of weekends ago she went to a fair in Cumberland County with her sister and dad.  Her sister Megan took a great picture of Lauren while Lauren was in a big tent filled with butterflies.
"Lauren's Grasshopper" Lauren age 7
A photo taken by me a few years ago.
Megan is a great photographer.  She has a really good eye.  I love the picture.
Megan's picture reminded me of a picture that I took of Lauren a few years back.  I happened to notice Lauren sitting on the deck staircase with her head laying on the step.  I was wondering what the heck she was doing until I got closer. She was laying on the stairs with her face about five inches from a huge grasshopper.  I have goosebumps just thinking about it.  Yuck.

Great news this week.  I was promoted to Perio Policy Supervisor.
A few months ago I was asked by the owner to design a Perio Policy for the corporation.  They sent it to their practice consultants.  The consultants tweaked it.  Now I'm gonna tweak it a little more so it can better suit our offices.
What will I be doing as a Perio Policy Supervisor you may ask. Lol.  I'm still trying to figure that out but this is the gist of what I got so far...
As Perio Policy Supervisor I have to make sure that, not just the hygienists but also the doctors, assistants and front desk staff are following the proper protocol for recalls, maintenance appointments and scaling's (SRP) and reactivation of charts according to the periodontal protocol.  Seems like a lot to do but I'm up for the challenge.
Not for nothing I love my job but I work my ass of for them every day and I do it 9 times out of 10 with a smile on my face. So it was a nice ego boost to be recognized by the owners and higher ups in corporate for the job that I do.  Thanks Scott.  ;)

Picture of the Day aka Fractures...

Tooth fracture #14 lingual

Tooth fracture #14 lingual

These two pictures weren't focused as well as I
would have liked but for a picture taken with an IPhone it's not that bad.

Fractured tooth #10
The teenage patient was jumped and punched in the face.

This was taken right after we left the emergency room.

Lauren was in pain but still attempted to smile for the camera.

The Blog aka Share your Pictures

The blog is starting to come into its own.  I'm still tweaking it here and there so bare with me in the mean time.  Again if there is anyone who would like to share their photos on this blog just leave a comment and I'll get back to you asap.

Me and my...

Time to start my weekend and enjoy my one day off.
Sueprize (my cat) and I are gonna watch girly romantic comedy's all night.  Well not all night.  For some stupid reason I made appointments for both of my dogs to get groomed tomorrow morning at 9:00 on my only day to sleep in.  What was I thinking?

So this weeks issue of my blog ended up having an awful lot of pictures of my youngest daughter Lauren.  You're forewarned. A Megan themed issue of the blog is on the way.   I can't wait.    :)
