Picture of the Day...
"You didn't notice the glasses?...  Really?"  Was all I could say to my assistant through my laughter.
This one makes me smile every time.

Partial Denture for Cleft Palate Patient

I recently cleaned a patient with a cleft palate.  She was kind enough to let me take a picture of her partial denture.
Its pretty neat the way that the denture was designed.
She said that many impressions were needed and that the lab man was there to help design it chairside.

My New Tattoo!

I'm 41yo and finally got my first tattoo today with my best friend and twin (born two years apart) sister.  I love it that we did them together.  We both got matching clovers in the same spot on our butts. Its a sister thing.  Lol

Pulp polyp aka Chronic Hyperplastic Pulpitis

A pulp polyp, also called as Chronic Hyperplastic Pulpitis, is found in an open carious lesion, fractured tooth or when a dental restoration is missing. Due to lack of intrapulpal pressure in an open lesion pulp necrosis does not take place as would have occurred in a closed caries case. Also a good vascular and immune supply is necessary, therefore found in adults. It is a productive pulpal inflammation where the development of granulation tissue is seen.

The patient was referred to the oral surgeon for extraction.
